APN Outdoor Goes Digital on Landmark Site
APN Outdoor is planning to launch Australia's largest digital billboard using
cutting edge design and world leading technology. Not only will the scope
of the new display be unique, it is being erected over Melbourne landmark
the Young & Jackson Hotel.
More than two years in planning, actual construction commenced this
month and once complete the new display will
have a working area of 87 square metres. APN Outdoor worked
with design specialists emerystudio to ensure that the architecture of
the display is complementary to its surroundings in a precinct
that also contains famous buildings such as Federation Square,
Flinders St Station and St Paul's Cathedral.
A key design feature of this spectacular digital
billboard is its curved surface which improves the display’s
presence. It will measure 37 metres long and is 3.5 metres high.
Richard Herring, CEO, APN Outdoor said the digital
billboard offers clients more adaptability with the
ability to change messaging at short notice, to target
consumers with different creative by day-part and to exploit
any geographic advantages.
Construction of the new Melbourne CBD site is expected to be
completed within weeks and will be followed by extensive testing
prior to an official launch at a date to be announced.
