APN Outdoor Launches the Next Big Thing
APN Outdoor this week launched the MegaSide – the largest national campaign
format in Australian transit advertising. A package consisting
of fifty MegaSides are taking to the streets as high-impact bus sides, bringing
a new eye-catching format to life in the highly effective transit sector.
MegaSides are essentially Supersites on wheels. Measuring almost
10 metres long and with 22 square metres of creative space,
the format ensures ultimate cut through in all five metro markets.
Distribution of the format offers clients a CBD skew and the
national package is weighted according to population density
by market.
APN Outdoor general manager, marketing, Paul McBeth, said the
company was excited to announce BP as the launch client, with
several other high profile clients on board the new format prior
to Christmas. “We are extremely pleased with the
market's response to the MegaSides package,” said McBeth. “Demand has
been exceptional and resulted in immediate forward bookings
that remain strong into 2009.”

“With transit already rated as a highly effective medium, the space offered
by the MegaSides format throws up new creative opportunities for advertisers
to achieve even higher impact messaging,” said McBeth.
MegaSides are the latest Australian first to be launched by
APN Outdoor. Just weeks ago the company announced the construction
of Australia's largest digital billboard, located over the famous
Young & Jackson Hotel landmark in Melbourne's central
business district.
